Be Thankful!

The Seventh Sola is taking a brief hiatus for Thanksgiving. So let me wish you and yours a wonderful day with family and friends, and remember to be thankful. Here in the United States, we are blessed with so much. It's sad to think that we might have to lose it all to be reminded of just how much we have been blessed.

And for believers, there is no excuse for not being thankful.

. . . Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful (Colossians 3:15).

My favorite picture. It is the current background on my puter and a copy hangs watching over our dinner table. There is a complimentary painting showing the man's wife seated across from him. What strikes me about it is the humble nature of the feast. Tomorrow many will sit down to gobs of gobbles, much will be wasted, much trashed and a week from now the feast will be remembered by the complaint, "not turkey again!"

Tomorrow, let it not be the only day of thanks, today if you hear his voice enter that rest which leaves no hunger unsated. Let us not forget what is symbolized in the text that accompanies this simple feast, "give us this day".

Happy happy to you and yours,

It's a very scary thought to think of what we might have to lose to know what we have to lose to begin with.

Every day that we wake up and draw breath, there is something to be thankful for. We could be one of the MANY who don't wake up, well at least not here. For some it's the beginning of eternal torture, for others it means that they no longer have the chance to serve God in the face of His enemies. Our time here on earth is very precious and we should take every opportunity we get to serve God in any way that we can due to the fact that no-one is promised tomorrow.

Anyway, enough said lol

God Bless.
