Every now and then, we need a break from the cares of this life. So today, let's all wish a happy 80th birthday to Mickey Mouse. Although I can't get by without at least one editorial comment. If Walt Disney were alive, and Mickey were real, I have a hunch they both would be headed to the offices at Disney with willow switches in hand.

80 years is an astonishingly long time for a character.
Mickey and Superman.
I had heard that Walt Disney's greatest phobia was mice! Believe it or not. Then, for the character of Mickey Mouse to be created is something a tad different.
