More Gales of November

If you'd like to see some more great shots of various outdoor excursions, check this site out by Sawtooth Outfitters. I wanted to post these today due to the current nasty windstorm in the Midwest, and nearing anniversary of the November 10, 1975, wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

As the pix attest, Lake Superior isn't nice during a storm.

Hi Sola,

The grain and coal freighters wisely put into port until this storm system had passed. No one wants a repeat of that tragic night!

BTW, I have seen the bell from the Fitz at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at White Fish Point. It serves as a memorial to the Fitz and the men who perished aboard her that terrible night. I fell in love with the Great lakes years ago, but it's a love that's tempered with respect and a bit of healthy fear. I would not want to be on ANY of the lakes during a storm of that magnitude!
