Ahaz, Hezekiah, and Manassah (Not a Rock Band)

A brief reflection today from 2 Chronicles 28. It's instructive.

You have King Ahaz (wicked creep) succeeded by his son, King Hezekiah (good guy, pictured right). Hezekiah was succeeded by his son, King Manassah (wicked creep).

King Hezekiah learned lessons from his father's failures and applied them. King Manassah failed to learn lessons from his father's successes. Thankfully, Manassah repented of his wickedness before he assumed room temperature, but not after much heartache and personal agony, all of which could have been avoided if he had followed his father's example instead of his wicked grandfather's example.

Ponder it well.
